Everyone knows the legendary ENTHRONED. Here the story, after Lord Sabathan and other Members left the band to reunite then in Sabathan
2017 was a decisive year for Lord Sabathan, things were good with Slaughter Messiah, his own band since 2011 and a lot of shows around Europe. 2017 was also a special year to celebrate for him, indeed it was the 20th anniversary of Cernunnos death in April 19th as well the 20th anniversary of the second and most successful Enthroned album « Towards the Skullthrone of Satan » an album which still is considered as cult nowadays.
Lord Sabathan couldn’t let those two important events indifferent. It is with the pression of some friends and as well the organizers of No Compromise Metal Fest in Belgium asking him to play this important period of his ex-former band Enthroned…and he accepted to make it.
Lord Sabathan swear allegiance to No Compromise Metal Fest to headline the festival as the very first old Enthroned tribute show and was supposed to be a one shot and then split.
In March 2017 it was about time to reunite a line-up to make it possible…and the first thing who came in head was to recruit ex-Enthroned members. First I was thinking to have one guitarist and I asked Nguaroth (Ex-Enthoned guitarist from 2003 to 2008) and he accepted to join the project. Then was to find a drummer, after some testing of musicians from Lord Sabathan’s circle, it’s finally Ahephaïm who got the job (Ex-Enthroned Drummer from 2007 to 2009). It was just missing a Guitarist to complete the line-up…and Lord Sabathan ask to his comrade from Slaughter Messiah T.Exhumator, it was a kind of honor he wanted to make for him due to the fact than T.Exhumator very first extreme Metal show was a show of Enthroned back in 2005.
April 2017, firsts rehearsals could start and all went very fine and the magic operated like in the old days…playing those tunes was like a jump in the time of 25 years ago for Lord Sabathan.
23 of September 2017 was the day of the very first live appearance for SABATHAN, as a (cover) band of Enthroned Lord Sabathan’s era (1993-2006). No Compromise Metal Fest in La Louvière ( Belgium) the date wasn’t chosen by chance and coincides with two event…the 20th year of « Towards the Skullthrone of Satan » release (11 October 1997), and the first show of Enthroned in the same city La Louvière (23 September 1995..i.e. 22 years before)…Events approximatively to a few days.
The success and expectations of this first show was huge, and outstanding and after such a infatuation, it was obvious to continue to project and finally abandon the idea of a single one shot show.
To seal the resurrection of Lord Sabathan’s Enthroned live show, a few times before the first show at No Compromise Metal Fest, T.Exhumator his own guitarist offered him his very first Bass Guitar which the one he made the very beginning of Enthroned, the famous and cult BC RICH Warlock Crackle from 1988 who was out of order since 1999 due to the twisted handle…he have reforged the old weapon like a pact to continue the project…and Lord Sabathan choose to continue till the end of his life.
After the first live appearance at No Compromise Metal Fest and due to the success of this one, a lot of demands flew from everywhere to have SABATHAN live on stage.
…After 11 years muted, the crusade finally was resurrected…
