Conceived in 2013, Stahlsarg immediately took to the road to travel
through the UK and Europe sharing their black metal sound. Air-time
includes Bloodstock Radio, Total Rock Radio, ICR, BRFM and Top Rock
Radio amongst others. They’ve also featured in UK and European music
magazines.
2014 saw such milestones as supporting pioneers of Norwegian black
metal, Mayhem, on their sole UK date in London, storming Belgium with
Italian black metallers Handful of Hate and joining black metal band
Excruciate 666 in France. Stahlsarg were also honoured to grace the
Sophie Lancaster stage at Bloodstock 2014, warming up the crowd for
Satan. No strangers to the festival scene, Stahlsarg also enjoyed
Beermageddon Festival in Birmingham and Belgium’s No Compromise Metal
Festival alongside headliner Crystal Viper.
Early 2015 Stahlsarg proudly created Stahlsarg Beer – handcrafted in
association with The Dove Brewery, Ipswich and this was followed by a
headline show in Camden, London. The band played a roaring set in
Germany at Wonnemond Festival in May, sharing the stage with the German
black metal legends Endstille. Stahlsarg attracted the attention of
Randall amplification and are now proud to be a part of their artist roster.
Stahlsarg’s debut album, “Comrades In Death”, is available
internationally via the Danish label Mighty Music. Recorded with Danny
B. Takoma (Criminal, Lockup) of HVR studios, Powerplay Magazine called
it “a multi-dimensional piece of work”. The band were honoured to be
invited on a short tour through the UK, once again supporting Endstille,
coinciding with the album’s release on Halloween. The band finished 2015
with another headline show, this time in Birmingham.
2016, saw the band play the legendary festival Inferno in Oslo in Norway
alongside Marduk, Mayhem, Nile & many more, the band played Belgium’s
Grimm Extreme Fest, a headline show in Amsterdam, Holland, Germany’s
Kings of black metal Festival alongside Primordial, Taake and many more
and numerous dates through-out the UK.
In February 2017 Stahlsarg returned to HVR studios in Suffolk with Danny
B Takoma on production duties and recorded the follow up to their debut
album Comrades in Death (Mighty Music). The album is entitled Mechanisms
of Misanthropy and was released on 31st October 2017, by the band’s new
label Non Serviam Records. Stahlsarg have numerous dates throughout the
year booked to support its release. The album features a guest vocal
from Kim Dylla (A winter lost, Gwar, Kung Fu Dykes) and an arrangement
from Brian Moss from Vicious Pink.
2018 saw the band supporting Septic Flesh and Inquisition in January,
they returned to London’s Incineration Festival in May and played a 4
date UK tour supporting the Norwegian Black metal band, Sarkom. The band
played a headline shown Bucharest and finished the year playing Cult Of
Parthenope Black Metal Fest In Italy alongside Cult Of Fire, Selvins & more.
In May 2019, Stahlsarg embarked on a mini UK tour with the Norwegian
band Acarash. Also in July the band played Switzerland for the first
time alongside Taake, Darkened Nocturn Slaughtercult, Svartjern, Bliss
Of Flesh and more at Forest Fest 2019. They featured guest vocals at
this festival from Kim Dylla (Gwar, and known for dressing lots of metal
bands by her Kylla custom Rock Wear clothing company) she also featured
on their second album. In September the band took to the road again on a
UK tour with the Norwegian band Crest Of
Darkness. Stahlsarg supported the German band, Imperium Dekadenz in
London in October and they finished the year playing Belfast in Northern
Ireland in October.
Stahlsarg returned after the pandemic to play several headline shows in
2022 with a new line-up and sound, playing Cardiff and Nottingham, a
slot at Beermageddon Festival in August and finished the year playing
HRH Vikings in Sheffield. Now as a five piece and being joined by Darren
Smith (Eastern Front) on bass, the band recorded at Parlour Studios with
Russ Russell on recording and mixing duties.
2023 started with the release of Suicide Of God EP via the label Cult
Never Dies February and was followed by playing Incineration Festival in
May and headlining in Cardiff. The band played Luxembourg for the first
time in June 2023 at Rotten Stones Festival. Played at Darkness Over
Cumbria Festival in July and continued to play headline shows across the
UK. The band will be finishing the year supporting Hulder in London.
2024 Stahlsarg travelled to Norway in January to play Orgivm Satanicvm
2024 Festival. The band played 2 headline shows in Leicester and
Nottingham and travelled to Switzerland in April to play Black Hole
Festival alongside Gorgoroth, Sargeist and many more. Stahlsarg played
Midlands in Flames Festival in Birmingham in May and London’s black
metal festival Cosmic Void 2024 in September. Stahlsarg travelled to
Bucharest in September for their final show of 2024 playing Psychosounds
Festival 2024 at Quantic Club alongside Inferno. The rest of 2024 will
see the band finishing the writing of new material to be recorded in
2025 for their 3rd album.
